Image capture and spod

I have been using a lexmark p4350 that was given to me successfully for a couple of years now. Ive kept the software updated (internet) Lately Ive been getting a "lexmark language error" when I launch image capture. I cant get the spod to stop to try and make corrections. Ive disconnected the scanner. I would like to reset the image capture as I believe it is where the problem lies.
I have verified the disk and repair permissions without succes

it may be the driver software, I cant find an uninstaller. I tried using preview to scan and still cant get scanner to work any insight would be helpful. I scan alot and now Im stuck
