So, I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Air 11" for my wife. I want to buy it from Amazon, so that I can use about $540 in credit card points to reduce the price of the new machine by that much.
I can only find 4GB versions of the MBA11 on Amazon. I know that 8GB is typically a CTO, but sometimes you can find non-standard versions of things on there. If anyone can provide a link for an MBA11 with 8GB on Amazon, it would be much appreciated.
My alternative is to buy her something with 4GB - but given that it can't be upgraded later, I'm very reluctant to do so - and buying from Apple effectively adds $500 to my price, so, not really looking to do that either. 4GB will probably be fine for the type of stuff she does - I'm just much rather get her something with 8GB if I can.
FWIW, I'm selling her current machine (mid-2009 MBP13" 6GB/320GB/80GB) for $600, so by going via the Amazon route, my wife gets a new machine for "free" and PLUS I get about $20 in my pocket after getting a sleeve for it.
Thanks,
oa
