How do I access a flash drive on a imac?

You should just be able to plug it in and have it show up on the desktop. Are you having issues?

Perhaps it's not formatted for the Mac OS. I had to reformat a couple of them in order to make them remember the window options I wanted. I don't remember how it was done, and I'm not finding a menu item for it.

When you open Finder is the drive listed ?
A Mac can read the drive or at least thats been my experience writing to it requires Fat 32 or formatted to Mac which can be done in Disk Utility.
Warning when you format all info is erased.
