I have used a mini-dv for a webcam. All I needed was a firewire cable. Plugged the firewire into the mac and the mini-dv end into the camera. Yahoo automatically detected the camera and i was up and running. no extra software needed. I got the firewire cable from newegg.com It was simply plug-and-play.
