• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

In trying to open it , have the following message:

“iFunia Video Converter” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

Anyone has any insights?

And if you haven't paid for that piece of spammer ware - don't - ask advice for what you need for what you're trying to do.

“iFunia Video Converter” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

That alone would be cause for concern in my book. It means that the developer hasn't registered with Apple, and as such, is an unknown. Not that it's necessary for every developer to have Apple's blessing, but it does give you a certain degree of quality assurance (i.e. malware/spyware/virus free).

I would strongly recommend against defeating your Mac's protection mechanisms specifically for this software, particularly when there are an abundance of worthy alternatives that have been vetted by Apple.

Anyone has any insights?

Steer clear of these Chinese outfits. Their products are typically re-branded, generic code that is promoted via spam and link-baiting. Personally, I wouldn't trust my credit card number to any one of them.
