I have a Macbook Air, my mom has an IPad. Is FaceTime free if we talk on FaceTime?
Does Skype work with Mac Air and IPad?

Face Time/Skype is free if you already pay for internet service and yes to both but IMO FT works better.

FaceTime itself is free. The standard disclaimer "your usual internet fees may apply."

One important note here... FaceTime only works on Apple devices while Skype can be used between an Apple device and others. And yes, as pointed out above they're both free after paying for internet service.
