Hi all,
All new to this Dreamweaver stuff! but I have come up against a problem when trying to set up a site in Dreamweaver. The tutorial I am watching (AdobeTV) says that there is a websever on all Macs but I cannot find one on mine. I have the latest software 10.8.1 and can find no trace. It says to go to sharing and click on web sharing but there's nothing there. Do I have to download free software to get a server on the Mac please?

Tnanks for any help

They have taken out the web server option on Mountain Lion, its still there but it has been taken out of the sharing options (a dumb decision from Apple IMO)

You can activate it still

Great!but now I have problem with creating local site

:Not-Amused:Hi All,
Thank you louishen for that help! Great that you are so knowledgeable. I have watched the Adobe TV tutorials and followed them exactly to create a local site but with no luck. Anybody willing to give me a screenshot of an up and running site on a Mac so that I can get this right? A copy of your "path" would be good also...

Many thanks...what would we do without you guys.....

The sites files should go in your Userfolder > Sites

You can test your website by typring your machines local ip address into the address bar of a browser

eg http://192.168.01.4/
