Most likely one of two things:
1. Has the resolution of your display been changed?
2. Go to the "Universal Access" control panel (System Preferences)...and se if "Zoom" has been turned on.

They somehow seem to know exactly what parts of the keyboard to stand on to create this effect.
Usually, option-command and the minus key (-) is sufficient to put things back to normal.
