I frequently am required to force quit safari, usually when its trying to load an embedded movie, but also does randomly. Its quite annoying, ive never experienced this problem on any other macintosh ive ever used. Is there any way to fix this besides reinstalling osX?

Depends what kind of movie you're viewing, if its windows media, you'll need the windows media player 9 (or even ten, i don't remember).

Else, update quciktime and safari, and check if it works in other browsers (to find out wheter it's safari's fault or the plugin's).
