at Luishen. I assume you mean Platform since there's dozens of operating systems. What is the term then for a person like me since I have to have a PC and a MAC on my desk?

The forum description does a good job describing what this and other forums are for..
The place for switchers to discuss their new machines, and how to work with OS X. General support can be had here for newbie stuff, like "How do I restart my new iMac?" :)

You are still a switcher, we dont require you to forsake your former faith and practices entirely to join the cult of mac.

We're not Scientology, we don't require you to disconnect yourself from your former friends for fear of ideological contamination ;)

Is this an audio switcher, video switcher? It's a very confusing title.

Why would the "Switcher" sub-forum have anything to with a topic as narrow as just audio or video? If you look at the Mac-Forums homepage…the Switcher forum is part of the websites sub-section "General Discussions" (nothing to do with audio or video). Audio & video discussions are part of the websites sub-section "Digital Lifestyle" (which does NOT contain a "Switcher" sub-forum).

This website is "Mac-Forums"…which is an Apple/Macintosh computer product forum to discuss just about anything Apple or Macintosh computer related.

The Switcher forum is a place for folks who recently have or are thinking of "SWITCHING" from a Windows OS based computer to a Macintosh OS based computer.

a Twitcher. :)

But seriously, you don't have a MAC on your desk. You have a Mac. It's short for Macintosh, not an acronym, so there's no need to capitalise it.

Are you kidding?

Are you? Do you not see how you capitalized the word Mac? Shall I point you to a definition of the word capitalize? If you're going to be pedantic about grammar, do it properly.

I was joking before (hence the wink) but this is just painful now. What do you call first letter capitalization? Do you honestly believe that the term capitalization only applies when every letter is in uppercase?

So you're saying the shortened form of Jonathan is john?
This should be fun. Where, in pointing out the proper usage of ther term 'capitalization' did I suggest that we do the exact opposite? Please, enlighten me. Please show me where, in pointing out (in jest) your misunderstanding of the term 'capitalization', I suggest that I ignore those same rules that I evidently needed to clarify.

Van: you're a lovely guy, but I think your reading comprehension skills are slipping.

If you look at my post, I was quite clearly referring to the word Mac, not the letters.

I said that Mac is short for Macintosh, it's not an acronym, so there's no need to capitalise it.

I'm sorry if I needed to spell out "capitalise the entire word" for you, but I gave the OP and subsequent readers credit for being able to understand the context. I see you're in a literalist mood, but I'm afraid the context is clear and you're just misinterpreting me. On purpose, I feel sure.
