I have an iMac 21.5 running Lion with the stock keyboard and stock Magic Mouse. Even with the tracking setting as high as it will go, the mouse pointer still moves too little for the amount of mouse movement. Is there any way I can increase the amount the cursor moves with a given mouse movement?

I haven't upgraded to Mountain Lion because of my slow and limited satellite internet. But if ML will solve the problem, I'll take it somewhere to get ML.

Thanks.

Is it the surface the mouse is on, does the table top have any sort of texture to help the mouse track movement?

Tried on a mouse pad and on a smooth desk.

Yes, you can go beyond the default tracking by installing Magic Prefs or Better Touch Tool or similar third-party Magic Mouse customizing software.
