I teach a high school music technology course, and I've noticed that there is a difference between the number of available loops on my GarageBand compared to the student's edition.
I am using a MacBook Pro, running OSX 10.7.5, the students are using desktop iMacs, running OSX 10.6.8. We are all using the latest version of GarageBand.

An example of my problem is: In GarageBand, I have 226 FX loops, whereas the students have 2,249 available FX loops. In other cases, I have more loops than they do.

Why the difference? How do we even these out?

Do either you or the school have Logic Studio installed? Logic Studio comes with a whole bunch of additional content (called jam packs) that you can use in Guarageband as well. That's my best guess.

The Jam Packs include a bunch of loops (both music and SFX) as well as synth and sample Libraries.
