• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

hey everybody,

a friend of mine, who has a mac g4 powerbook, burned for me some quicktime video files. i use quicktime under windows xp.

when got home, inserted the burned dvd disc, and the explorer showed the file names, with no extension (.mov) after it. the quicktime software showed that its not a movie file, also after i added the file extension to the file. the files are in full size, looks like the burning progress went well. i really want those files to work, its really important.

ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Hey Ronen. What application was used to generate the files? Sounds obvious, but are you sure they're Quicktime files and not some other format? Do they have a suffix when viewed on the Mac? If you right-click them on the Mac and go to Show Info, what kind of file are they listed as?
