Do either of you have access to a file or web server of some sort?

Probably, but I don't know if any. Google free web servers and see what comes up.

Uploading and downloading via FTP would be the fastest way I can think of.

Best way to send 3 gigs removable HD or burn it to a DVD. If you have a cable internet connection you can send it over ichat but it will take about 1-2 days depending on your connection.

Since it's not one file, but a few. You should try: http://www.sendover.com/ You can send a file up to 2GB in size.
