I hope this is the appropriate place for this question/advice.
I want to control my original iPad while it plays my iTunes music (from my MacBook) through my home theater receiver (via Apple TV). While I could sync all of the music TO the iPad, it seems that I should not have to do that with home sharing turned on. The idea is to connect my iPad to the receiver and play through the speakers that are connected there. I have include a quick diagram of how this is connected.
I can correctly play the iTunes music through the receiver but should I not be able to somehow use the apple TV to control (start/stop etc) via my Apple TV?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Hutch
