I've heard that using an NTFS external drive via Thunderbolt through Windows 7 (boot camped) is not 100% supported. I need the Mac side of my imac for some things, but the Windows side needs external storage. Would like the interface to be as fast as possible. Does anyone have experience/suggestions for this? Thanks - HK

You didn't mention anything at all about your hardware or which Mac you have, but instead of using a Thunderbolt drive, use Firewire 800 which Windows 7 supports. Keep in mind that Windows 7 will not backup or image to an external drive unless it's formatted to NTFS.
