I was thinking of getting an Elgato product to watch TV on my Mac and iPad, but based on what I've seen of EyeTV, I can only watch Cable TV if it's through a cable TV receiver, get get TV channels through the cable wire that are Clear QAM. From what I've read, Clear QAM is typically only local channels, and sometimes not even that.
Since I don't use a cable receiver (just the cable plugged into the TV) it doesn't seem like their products will let me watch all the cable channels. Can anyone out there confirm this or tell me anything else about Elgato products?
