Basically .mac is a collection of web services that integrate really nicely with OS X and iLife.
You get 1GB of storage and a few neat features:
Example:
-1-click upload of images onto your .mac webpage
-automatic data backup to your .mac account
-automatic sync& backup of contacts, calendars, preferences, bookmarks, passwords etc.
-IMAP mail account
-easy sharing of data on your iDisk with others...

Costs 99$ a year... you can get more storage for less, but you can't beat the integration...

Yeah. I loved the trial. But I'm too lazy and poor to buy it. I wish I could. It makes you look rich.

Is the real benefit being able to sync between multiple Mac computers? If so, I've only got one mac.

I'll try the free trial.

You can use most of the features from a windows machine too, once you've synced from your mac...

If you need a quick and easy way to get stuff online (images, videos, files) and share them with others, it's really handy.

Not only is the automated backup worth it but the ability to access your personal bookmarks from any computer is pretty nice.

I tried the trial but really had no use for it because I already have a pretty established email address and I knew that it was only 60-days so I didn't bother putting photos on the homepage.

I wish I had it, but it'd be too much of a pain changing my email address.

Cool, .Mac seems pretty interesting. I'm leaning towards buying it. I think the coolest thing about it is that you get the e-mail address @mac.com. That's so cool. Only people who have macs and who have a .mac membership can have that e-mail address. Me @mac.com.......COOL!!

Im on my second year of .mac and its great. I dont think its that expensive. considering the services and integration. I'm nowhere near what one would call wealthy, more like the starving student. Yeah a hundred bucks is tough to swallow but I look at it like 8 bucks a month. I spend that on snapple.
