Not strictly a newbie but new to forum. Straightforward enough question i guess, my macbook pro has been away for repair and im getting it back tomorrow. Repairs included replacement of fan an fan housing, replacement of new 500 hard disc. No data was recoverable from the failed hard disc but i suspected it was on the way out and made a complete backup with time machine to a new hard drive.
Is it now just a matter of doing the reverse and connecting time machine up again and importing data to new hard disc? Will i lose anything?

If you made a good backup, then no. There are numerous videos and hints on the web which will assist you in restoring your TM backup to the new drive. Here's one such video on You Tube: LINK
