playing mp4 files on an xbox

I have some mp4 files (with no drm and no restrictions) that I would like to share with a friend of mine. She doesn't have any playback device except an xbox. I can put the mp4's onto a flash drive easy enough but what will she need to do in order to play them? Thanks.

I've heard that just renaming it to .mov will do the trick.
