Hello!

I did a search for a similar topic, but did not see one. I need more memory (RAM not HD space) on my new Windows partition. When I check out the system settings on the Windows side, it says I have 8 GB of RAM available, which is correct, but only 2.99 gigs are available. When I made the partition I divided my HD equally, giving 500 gbs to both sides.

Is there a way to allocate more RAM to an existing partition? Or might I have to reinstall windows 7 after repartitioning?

I'll be checking this thread to provide any information required.

Thanks :)

You state RAM, not HD space and yet your meander between them..

If you have a Mac that has 8GB of RAM, you'll need the 64-bit version of Windows to see all 8GB. This has nothing to do with the 500GB you allocated since that is HD space, not RAM.

What version of Windows did you install?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Sounds like you installed 32bit Windows which will only see that 2.99GB. A 64bit install will recognise all memory.
