I have a problem with Adobe won't open PDF files. I can't seem to find this in the Adobe Reader Preferences to change ... " UNcheck the option to display PDFs in browsers "

What browser are you using, you want PDFs to open in Reader, not the browser, correct?

I don't remember the name of the section in the preferences precisely but I believe you want one called "Internet."

Adobe reader very nicely kills the ability to open PDFs in Safari and also Firefox since it takes over. Remove Adobe Reader unless you specifically need it for a special something. Your Mac already has Preview which can open PDF files.

I did remove Adobe Reader, but still can't read a PDF's. It must have changed something to stop Preview from working. How can I check this out?...Thanks

Open up Finder and push Command-Shift-G. In the prompt that appears, enter the following: /Library/Internet Plug-ins/. In the folder that opens, make sure AdobePDFViewer.plugin isn't there. If it is, delete it (you will have to enter your password to do this).

Them? There should only be one.

Have you restarted Safari? Once the Adobe PDF plugin is removed, Safari's native PDF viewer should be used automatically.
