Just got a new 2TB Time Capsule today. Took a bit of finagling but was able to successfully introduce it to the Network.
Actually adding the New TC was a piece of cake, getting the Old 500GB TC sorted out was the tricky part. It just didn't want to participate as a second stringer. Took me about a half an hour but I finally traced the problem to a setting I had forgotten to change and Airport Utility didn't flag (Internet Connection Method).
Once I switched it to connecting wirelessly it docilely joined my Home Network with the 2TB TC as the new Base and the Old TC and my AES downstairs extending.
