change automatic font for word

I have not been able to locate how to change the automatic font that comes up with Word (Cambria as it happens) & is favored in so many varied instances, to something else.

Also, is there anything I should be routinely doing for maintanence of the mac in general besides erasing extra documents.

Format > Style. Find and select "Normal" then click Modify. In the resulting window, choose the font you want, then check "Add to template." Click Okay, and Apply.

As for maintenance, you'll keep your system in top shape by running Onyx periodically. It's free.

Great tip. Much easier than modifying the normal template itself (normal.dotm). We have a tendency to forget about how handy "styles" are.
