mac.com mail in icloud

I tried to send an email via icloud on my mac.com account. My attachment was too large and the message could not be sent. However, my mail keeps trying to resend the mail. How do I delete this.

1. Open the drafts mailbox.
2. Select the email
3. Press delete.
