    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi Video Experts,

I am thinking about buying myself a Go Pro HD cam and I am still wondering if it's worth buying the latest one - the HD 2. Is it so much better than the former one? What are the main differences and why should one by the more expensive - the HD 2 one?

I appreciate your comments!!

Cheers,

Video quality...low light capability...will it make a difference..? It depends on your expectations...There is better quality in the HD2...Go to Vimeo or YT to see the side by side differences..

No...but have considered both of them as well...I know there is a decent price difference...but I believe it is worth it as the few upgrades in the HD 2 can make a big difference in quality and all around useability. Also check out the Hero website and do a drop down comparison..

I own both models, and I can tell you go with the Hero 2.
You will be glad you did.
Hero 2 is capable of 1080i HD where the Hero 1 is only able to deliver 740. Side by side comparisons are available at various sites like vimeo.

Also the Hero 2 is able to be controlled with a neat WiFi pack.
And there is also talk of the expected release of an iPhone app to work with the WiFi pack as well.

Keep that camera safely rolling,
Cheers
