Hello,

I'm wanting to upgrade my laptop RAM from 4GB to 8GB very soon.
I have a winter 2011/early 2012 15" macbook pro, core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB.

I checked the cost at apple.ca, then using the info given, I did a quick search. $200.00 dollars at apple. And about $60 anywhere else.

Any advice would be great.
This is what apple has to offer: Apple Memory Module 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 (PC3-10600) - 2x4GB
I'm guessing I would like that or better (pc3 12800 is 'faster', is that right? And would DDR4 or something be 'faster' yet?)

Thanks for any suggestions/help everyone.
EDIT: RAM I found for $60 at first may have been desktop PC RAM. Still, I am seeing cheaper than $200 if I'm not mistaken... ?

Thanks mate ;)
I know apple doesn't actually make memory.. thats what they had on their .ca site is all.
Good to know about the 10600 vs. 12800 too.
I'll check the link you provided after work tonight.

PS: "...Apple memory is too dear..." Whats that mean?

Thank you.
