Recipient of email sees £ sign as £

Hello,

This is my first use of any forum!

When sending an email from my MacBook pro and I use the £ sign (eg £200), it is received by the recipient as £200.

How can I ensure that the recipient sees £200 and not £200?

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

make sure Mail used Unicode to write emails

Go to Applications -> Utilities and open Terminal. Copy the line below

defaults write com.apple.mail NSPreferredMailCharset "UTF-8"

and hit Enter to execute:
