Hello out there, I have a MacbookPro from 2008 which has a DVi cable socket which I want to connect to a HDMI output from the back of the new TV. I did think about Apple TV but was told it would be too old to support it... I can see that I can get the right cable but see that it doesn't support sound? How do I get the sound across, please?
I know I'm being a bit thick and probably have to plug in more cables to the jack plugs on the other side.... but not sure exactly what I need.

There should be an audio cable (both male ends) from speaker jack of the mbp to audio in on TV. You are in business.
