strange problem with gmail account on iPad2

hi all, i just can't fathom out what the problem is, please see the attachment to understand the problem, thanks.
my wife has two identically set up gmail email accounts on her iPad2 and another set up for her in association with my web space hosting account.
for over 3 days now since 00.27hrs 10/7/12 that message has been popping up, as a result there has been no emails getting through on that account, the other gmail account is OK, with all the same settings !. The emails she should be receiving on her ipad, are all in her Online Gmail Inbox !.
In desperation i set up BOTH Gmail accounts with Forwarding to her third email account and ALL the emails go through OK.
Does anybody understand why this is happening please.
I will probably soon disable both Gmail accounts on her iPad as they are being forwarded OK into the third account. But she DOES NOT like change LOL.
It has taken ME the best part of a year to get her to use emails as it is LOL.
