For some reason, the repeat function on the keyboard does not seem to be working. When I type the letter "A" for example, when I hold the key down, it does not repeat like it normally would. I have not changed any of the settings, and it's only been a problem since I turned my mac on about half an hour ago. This has never happened before either.

Can anyone help?

You on Mac OS Lion by any chance?
What happened is that apple disabled the key repeat in favor for a iOS like popup. Hold down a key like "u" to see this.

You can disable this, by opening the command prompt, copy/pasting this and hitting enter.
Code:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false

You need to reopen any applications that are open for it to take affect though.

Good catch! I know a command prompt is like the terminal but some others may not.
