• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

iMovie '11 (9.0.4), OS X 10.6.8.

I Imported a black-and-white m4v video and flipped it left-for-right. Then I Finalized the Project, and Exported the video. Pretty simple stuff.

The only size option available at export was "Large" (960x540), not the original "720p" (1280x720).

The resulting file is 2x the original (270 MB vs. 151 MB).

The codec is h.264.

The only difference other than format is the data rate (3.75 vs. 2.04). Is this the reason the file grew?

Suggestions re how to export it in the original format (1280x720) and file size? How do I export the video using the original specs?

Thanks,
JJ
