I am running Lion 10.7.4; After the upgrade my iCal says "couldn't connect to cal.me.com". Only some of my calendars are showing up in iCal. Suggestions?

Have you "Deselected" the MobileMe Calendars in the list of your Calendars?
It sounds like iCal is still trying to attach to the MobileMe Calendar and deselecting it will stop it.
Also remember to go into System Preferences, select the MobileMe icon and "Logout" of your MobileMe Account.

Just a couple of suggestions

MobileMe no longer exists. Follow the instructions here to migrate over to iCloud, Apple's new set of cloud services.
