Sleep mode and internet connection

Dear All,

I have an iMac with wired internet connection. Everytime when it comes back from sleep mode, the internet connection takes a long time to re-established. So much so that the Safari screen turns to grey and the cursor becomes the rotating color circle.
I have reset the unit using the 3 buttons method but to no avail.
Any thoughts on that?

Which iMac do you have and what version of OS X is it running? The problem you mentioned has been addressed with an update to Lion and further updates in Lion 10.7.4.

I am already using 10.7.4 and in fact my iMac is only 6 months old.
Strange.

If you got the 10.7.4 update via Software Update, then try and download the OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo) and see if you get any change.

Dear All,

I held down the "shift" key while powering up the imac and it seems to do the tricks. Internet connection feels faster. I'll give it a few more days to declare its fixed.
