I took a drive to the Pacific Coast this morning and actually saw no rain. There were dramatic overcast skies that produce my favorite diffused light on everything. After processing this image I saved a number of versions: straight color, framed color and framed B&W. I'm posting the two framed versions to see if anyone likes one more than the other, and why. :) Have fun!

Nice pictures. I am a native Californian. My wife and I have driven the Oregon coast to the end of California. We loved it all. When we visited Oregon A few years back we felt very welcomed to Oregon. I know there has been conversation that Oregonians dislike us. However I have nothing but great things to stay about Oregon.

Wow! Two words on the photograph & over 50 on the hate or love of Californicans. How did that wind up in the thread? :)

I hope you did not misunderstand me. I would like to clarify that I LOVE the state of Oregon and its people. Or perhaps I misunderstood your statement.

Great shots Bob. Personally love there black and white pic for its starkness and beauty.

Thanks for you're viewing & observations. It seems you are in the minority on this one. Nothing wrong with that. I was just wondering if the color photo was a good candidate for a B&W conversion. Glad you like the results. :)

Would love to put the black and white on my walls. Looks beautiful!

Normally I would go B&W, but in this case I prefer the color version.

I definitely think the colour one in this case, IMO the contrast in the B&W is too low. Perhaps bumping that up might make me reconsider?
