Where'd my iCal go?

By command bar, are you referring to the Dock (the collection of icons at the bottom of the screen)? If so, simply open Finder, navigate to you Applications folder, find the iCal icon and drag it back to the Dock.

Agreed with Van. What I have found happens with the dock from time to time is, if I am in a hurry I have clicked on the wrong icon in the dock and in the rush to get to the right one kept the left button down and the app got drug off the Dock and went POOF!
