Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum as well as brand new iMac user. last week I bought a new 27" 2.7 imac. After getting home and setting it up I went to turn it on but all I would get is the sound of the fans whirring up and then nothing. The screen would stay black and the sounds of the fans would die down then startup again. This went on a few times and each time I thought it was going to boot up. Nothing happened so I eventually unplugged the machine and plugged it back in again and voila it started up no problem after turning it on. I've had the computer for a few days now and it's happened a couple more times since then. It will turn on eventually but I have to unplug it and monkey around with it first. Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks,
Kevin

Since it's brand new, take it back. Don't bother trying to troubleshoot.
