Apple tones down language touting OS X security measures

Apple's website used to boldly claim that the Mac "doesn't get PC viruses," but following the spread of the Flashback botnet, the company has since toned down the language to say that OS X is "built to be safe."

That's much better and a much more accurate reflection of the state of computing and Apple's approach to OS X. It's always amazing how much simple shifts in language use can make a difference (and as someone who studies the use of language, I can attest to this). Hopefully this will help to offset the sense of complacency that anti-Apple individuals pick up on in their critiques.
