Good Morning fellow Mac friends,

I just got a mid 2007 model MacBook last night running 10.7.3. so far I love it, but wondering if basic things will work the same way as they do with my g4 powerbook running leopard or my iMac running snow leopard or will I have to get a book to learn how to fully use Lion?

You will see most similarity between the new system and your iMac. There are some differences though in most cases you cain revert to the Snow Leopard behavior with a few preference changes.

thanks, so far it seems to work real similar to snow leopard. course i have had it for less than 24 hours so really haven't played with it too much yet. using it now at my local starbucks. seems considerably faster than my last version of the g4 powerbook and somewhat faster than my iMac running snow leopard.

Congrats on the new gear BTW. If it had not seemed faster than the G4 I would have been a bit worried lol. It did take me a bit of time to decide which of the new features I liked compared to Snow Leopard and which I wanted to revert to the "old" behavior. I still do not really make use of Launchpad though I think if I put a little time in with it I would like it since it behaves like the iPad/iPhone.

I managed to purchase it from someone on my areas local Craigslist site. Got it for $150.00. Only thing wrong with it is it needs a battery. Looking at amazon it looks like I can get a battery for around $30.00. actually, the casino purchased it and my new suv for me. I broke the casino's bank account last thursday night.

I have never won a dollar on the lottery. took about 2 weeks to win what I won at the casino, went last night to try to collect more, and quickly figured out that they are going to try to take it back, left after loosing 400.... either way i can't complain about that.

Never hit the lotto myself either. Can't afford to play. I figure if I ever won I would keel over from heart failure or get to the Lotto office and be told I didn't actually win.

if I won the lotto I think i would die. but since i really don't expect it to happen I'm not to worried about it. played with my MacBook most of the day, and really am enjoying it so far. Lion seems to be easy to get used to.;D

I once won a substantive amount from the (Florida) lottery. Not millions sadly, but some thousands. I don't play regularly, just got lucky once. I refer to the lottery as the "stupidity tax" since it really is but hey -- I didn't say I wasn't stupid sometimes! :)

As for the MacBook, great score and I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but a caution about super-cheap batteries: they have a tendency to catch fire or warp. IOW, there's a reason why they are $30. Spend a bit more and get a reliable brand one (like the Newer batteries which are still considerably less than Apple's prices).

I didn't order a battery yet, so perfect timing for the tip about off brand batteries.... never thought of that. think I might look at owc site and maybe get a battery from them, plan on keeping the MacBook for quite a while.
