my friend got a used imac g4. it has 800mhz and 256mb ram. Its pretty laggy. Should he upgrade the ram or the processor? Ram seems ovbious but thats a pretty slow processor. He wants to watch videos in itunes and it just doesnt work.

hmm apple says this...

The maximum installed RAM that can be used is 1 GB. RAM modules of 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB sizes can be used in both slots.
There are two RAM slots in the iMac (Flat Panel) computers. They are:

A user-accessible 144-pin SO-DIMM slot.
An internal (factory-installed) 168-pin DIMM slot

does that mean one slot can take up to 512?

Did he do a fresh install of OS X when he got it? I would definantly go for more RAM, its so cheap.
