Thought so.

New question:
If I buy a refurb laptop mac could I install XP on it instead of OSX ? Or would it be better to just by a Dell/HP etc. ?

The only way you will be able to run any M$ OS on an Apple product at this time is by using virtualPC.

No.
And anyway, what the heck is the point of buying a Mac, to only install Windows on it?

Just get a PC if you really want or need Windows.

I have XP only programs and sites I need to use,
and I like the look and quality of the Apple computers.

Does anyone know why an XP cd won't load in an apple computer ?

Because Macs use PowerPC chips and XP is written for Intel chips. Totally different architectures.

Different hardware architecture. If you would have waited for the new Intel Macs, you would have been able to dual boot.

If you really needed Windows XP, you should have thought about that before buying an Apple. You can find really nice PC hardware out there if you are willing to spend the money, example Lenovo laptops.
