Editing audio software?

Can anybody suggest a really good editing device for use on macbook pro? Audition seems clunky and sadie is too expensive. Basically for editing multiple voices within the same project.

Audacity (which is what I assume you were referring to) is worth exactly what it costs IMO.

I've never heard of sadie so i can't comment on that but I use Amadeus Pro ($40) and really like it. Sound Studio 4 I bought some time back but haven't bothered to get into it because Amadeus does what I want.
