hard drive enclosure?

i just put a SSD in my macbook pro and i still have my old hard drive that has all my photos and what not on it. if i buy an enclosure with a usb can i plug it in and access the content on the old hard drive whenever?

sure, use migration assistant to access the old hard drive.

Sure you can. If you don't want to move everything and you just need some files you don't necessarily need Migration Assistant. You can usually access these files from the Finder just like any other files.

Yeah, Migration Assistant is only if you want to move the photos (and everything else) onto the SSD (given the price of SSDs, I'm guessing you don't want to do that). Just put it in an enclosure, plug into the computer and access it like any other external drive.
