Demand for Kindle Fire collapses as Apple's iPad continues to dominate

A new survey of potential tablet buyers has found that the Amazon Kindle Fire is "floundering," while Apple's iPad remains the most popular and satisfying choice for consumers.

The Kindle Fire is nice, but in no way compares to the latest iPad so it's no wonder it's "floundering".

I know two people who have a Kindle Fire and don't nearly use them as much anymore.

I own just a regular Kindle, but I still high recommend it over reading on the iPad.

I really wanted to like the regular Kindle, but I just can't stand e-Ink. That blink white to black to white in the transition between pages gets on my nerves and is too distracting.

E-ink is so nice for reading, very book-like. I agree Razor, the blink is somewhat annoying.

As for staying on topic. Saw that coming.

I don't own either but I have used both frequently (that family members own). For my simple uses, both are more than adequate. The Fire is a bit lighter and "handy" to tote around since I don't carry a man purse or backpack everywhere. I can't really slam either one, though I can certainly see the iPad as being a more valid netbook replacement option (for example). My MBA does what I need right now, so I'll hold out for an iPad-Mini someday.

Kindle is no Match

Even though the Kindle is a nice gadget from Amazon, I would still in no way prefer it over the iPad.
