You have to remove all of the the screws on the outside. and then the entire back slides off. WATCH OUT for the power cord, it is fragile and needs to be disconnected, i just did one the other day and about broke the cord. watch out for the CRT as well it can be very dangerous to mess with.

Yes...a VERY important "watch-out"!
@dq72: With the "power cord" being the internal wire that goes to the on/off power switch. The eMac rear cover can only be lifted a few inches before the power switch wire becomes taught. Then you have to reach up inside & disconnect the wire BEFORE the eMac's rear cover can be completely lifted off.
