Hi Folks - am total newbie - having just taken delivery of my very first Mac.
Can anyone advise best way to transfer Microsoft Office from PC to Mac.

I know how to copy the PST files etc - but not sure where to put them on Mac in order for it to work.

Many thanks!

Welcome to Mac-Forums

You will need to get a Mac version of Microsoft Office to get it to work first. You cannot bring over your PC version.

As far as the PST files go, just copy the file somewhere on your Mac and then within Outlook you can import it and it will get placed in the right spot..

As stated above, you'll either need Microsoft Office for Mac or iWork. I recommend Microsoft Office for Mac, though, since you're already used to the one on Windows, which is very similar. Good luck, you won't regret the switch. ;)

As suggested Office 2011 is the go. You could of course install Windows via Bootcamp and run Office from there, but not really practical all that booting, closing eyc.

Thanks everyone - really helpful.
Have bought Office for Mac and installed it - and imported the pst file - all good.

Only problem is that Outlook won't quit - so problems logging off.
Any ideas?

Many thanks!

What happens when you try to quit? Do you get some sort of error message?

Also remember that usually, closing an application's window does not also close the program. If you just click the red close button on a window, it just closes that window. To fully quit an application, you have to choose Quit from the application's menu, or simply press Q while holding down the Command key on your keyboard.
