I recently changed my yahoo passwords and updated the new info on my iMac settings email tab. when i go to my mail, it keeps asking me to update my password again and again: the message is get:The Yahoo IMAP server imap.mail.yahoo.com rejected the password for user.

I typed the right password again and again.

2. what does synchronize email do?

3. it keeps asking me for the "incoming mail server"? i dunno what that is.

PS: Please answer me like you'll explain something to a little kid cuz i am not a geek. thank u

Where did you change your passwords for Yahoo? Did you go direct to their mail server? And did you make the necessary changes in Mail preferences, accounts?

Something like mail.yahoo.com
And as chscag said you need to alter your email clients accounts settings as well, if you changed things on the email server.

Hi,

Try this in the Mac mail Yahoo account settings,or check this is what you have.
Incoming mail server (pop3) = plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server (SMPT) = plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Or

Incoming mail server (pop3) = pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server (SMPT) = smtp.mail.yahoo.com
