HDMI to Mac Displayport Adapter

I bought an HDMI cable to connect my Mac and TV, but I need an adapter for my display port. I have searched and found many types of adapters, but there is so much out there I do not know which type works with Mac's and not waste money buying adapters that don't work. Im looking for suggestions of what HDMI to Displayport adapter I'm looking for.

Just go to Amazon and search for "mini display port to hdmi socket" then you just plug in any HDMI cable you already own.

Here's the one Apple sells on their store, which is said to preserve sound output so you don't have to hook up a separate wire for audio:

I have to point out that for $99, you can get an Apple TV and "cut the cord" entirely. It might be a bit more money up front, but the added value and the enjoyment of wireless is worth it.
