• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hello All.

I have used Mac DVD Ripper Pro to back-up a RipGuarded DVD which I recently bought. I have done this so that I can stream the film to ATV. Handbrake could not scan it but MDRP seemed to work faultlessly.

The problem I now have is that the DVD has been backed-up to my hard drive, but it has saved into two files, AUDIO and VIDEO.

There is nothing in the AUDIO file, and about 30 files in the VIDEO file. These are all strange looking pieces of information, all beginning with VTS and ending in either VOB, IFO or BUP.

Can anyone help?

Thanks, John.

You obviously haven't bothered to read our forum Sticky notice at the top of this forum regarding ripping DVDs. Also our guidelines are very specific about this. Breaking DRM or copy protection is illegal here in the US and this forum adheres to US law. Thread closed.
