• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

im working on a video project in imovie11. early in the video , i detached some audio from a clip and deleted the tail end the clip, leaving the audio to run concurently with the clips that followed the source clip--it worked great! today i tried doing the same thing , and when i run the video all sound stops for the duration of the detached video. and earlier the sound was fine--as long as it was running with its source clip...but once it played the clips that followed all sound from the detached audio stopped.
ive been to the mac forum sites and read similar/the same problems, but not a single answer.
any help would be great! mahalo!!1

That sounds like you have "ducking" turned on (see your iMovie help file for more info on "ducking." You can adjust that by selecting the audio and turning off ducking (I think, I'm telling you this from memory so I may not have it quite right but you'll probably figure it out from there).

Is the audio part of the original clip or was it added to the video part? Is there a yellow exclamation symbol attached to the audio clip?
